What to write in a Mother's Day card🖊️

Figuring out what to write in a Mother’s Day card is easier than you think once you decide on a card. Think about her likes and dislikes and go from there. Does she prefer humor or a traditional “Happy Mother’s Day” card with flowers on the cover? Once you gauge which direction you plan to head in — PANIC! Just joking. Then you can start to craft your greeting card sentiment.

Below, you’ll find some helpful nuggets of information that’ll have you writing like Shakespeare before you can say, “I’ve got this!”

Goofy is, as goofy does

Say hello to Forest, the silliest goat on the funny farm, who’s gracing the cover of our quirky Mother’s Day card in all his glory! And since no Maa-ther’s Day is complete without an onomatopoeia, say less. Really, don’t think you have to write a novel on the inside of the card. Sometimes letting the card do the talking, followed by a simple signature, is sufficient.

Inside text as is: You’re the G.O.A.T., Maa! Happy Maa-ther’s Day!

Suggested text: You’re a different kind of special! Love ya, So-and-so

Keeping it beautiful, inside and out

The key is to try to tie what you write to the theme of the card. In this example, the prewritten text already connects with the theme, so you’ll probably want to approach this card with a less-is-more mindset. Anything additional that’s theme-related is overkill. MURDERER! Joking! Don’t mind us — we like to keep things light and airy around here.

Suggested text: I’m proud to call you my mom. Love, So-and-so

Thou shalt honor thy wife

Speak from the heart with our floral Mother’s Day card, featuring a beautifully written poem on the cover. Ideal coming from the family as a whole, there’s a lot of text yet again, so you could get away with just a signature — or not.

Just remember, there are no rules, and it’s the thought that counts. If you run into a bout of writer’s block, try walking away for a bit. Coming back to the task at hand with a fresh mind tends to do the trick. And if all else fails, don’t overthink it — OR ELSE we’ll sic Forest’s cousin Pablo on your ass!
