When do you ask someone to be your valentine?

You’ll want to ask someone to be your Valentine approximately three to four weeks before Valentine’s Day. That gives both you and your prospective Valentine plenty of time to plan accordingly. As for how to thoughtfully go about asking, one of the Valentine’s Day cards below is a perfect place to start.

Bring on the nostalgia and pop the question with our Will You Be My Valentine? card.

Get ready to either scar her for life or win her over when you serenade her with this dapper Valentine’s Day card for her.

Piece of pie singing.

Part of our I Owe Yous Collection, this unique Valentine’s Day card does two things: it gives you the opportunity to ask if they’ll be your Valentine and opens the door to a future date. Oh—and it’s a little flirty, too, setting a romantic tone for what’s to come.

Picnic in park redeemable greeting card.

Once you’ve picked out a card, a simple “Will you be my Valentine?” followed by your signature will do the trick. Handing it to her in person is ideal, but if you’re shy, mailing a Valentine’s Day card via USPS First-Class Mail typically takes about five business days—so plan accordingly.

P.S. If all goes well, don’t forget the flowers, chocolates and to make dinner reservations as far in advance as possible. 💐🍫
